I’m Getting Ready For School

Gracie has been bugging us for over a month to go to school. Yeah I have been lazy and haven’t really looked into it that much. Finally the other day I decided to call the one place we would like to send her. They took my information and setup an appointment for this morning. Of course I told Gracie I had a meeting for her to attend school and she was all excited. This morning I sent her to Grandpa’s house, went to the meeting and came home. I told her she would be able to go to school in September. Gracie ran upstairs and packed her backpack and then she headed to the bathroom. When I asked what she was doing she replied “I’m getting ready for school”.

When Finger Painting Goes Wrong

Gracie bugged and bugged and bugged me to let her play with the finger paints this morning. I finally gave in knowing it would be messy, just not quite this messy.

Gone In A Flash

I have to say that events over the past 24 hours have made me realize just how precious my children are. There was a car accident yesterday that claimed the lives of 4 people, a wife, a grandfather and 2 kids. The grandfather and 2 kids lived across the street from wife and I before we moved where we live now. I knew these people, not well but would wave and say hi. I saw the kids play many times in their front yard and watched a family and their life. I watched as their house was destroyed by the flooding in September (we had moved from across the street) and now I watched as their lives were taken in a flash on Saturday. 2 kids who never realized what life was about are gone. I can only imagine the pain and the grief that this family is going through and I couldn’t imagine for one minute my life without my 2 beautiful daughters. We ALL tend to take things for granted, snap at the littlest things and sometimes forget that in a matter of moments it could all be gone. Love your family and hold them close and be thankful for what you have because there are those not so fortunate this evening……..RIP

A New Beginning

I have decided I am going to keep a personal blog again so I have a place to reflect on my time as a stay at home dad. I will do my best to update daily with the happenings of life and the kids.
