Milissa went back to the baby doctor this morning. We were hoping to find out the sex of the baby but of course the little one was being very uncooperative. The technician tried for like 20 minutes to get a view but no luck. We did get some photos and got to hear the heartbeat again. 152 beats per minute which we were told was good.
As for the low lying placenta problem that was noticed last time it seems to be correcting itself. They seem to think there won’t be any problems after all.
I have the ultrasound picture online now. I had to stop at CVS to scan it. Scanner at work is a piece of junk. Photo is after the jump.

Milissa went to the baby doctor again today and things went fairly well. I have added the ultrasound pictures you can see the baby now and not just a little speck. The only bad thing that came from the visit was that the doctor was concerned about the fact that she has a low lying placenta. From what I gather on the internet this is somewhat common during the first few months of pregnancy and most often it will correct itself by the 8th month. Should it not then she would have to have a Caesarean that would be done around the 38th week. The doctor will be doing another ultrasound on the next visit to see if the placenta is still a problem. Updated due date is October 1st.
Ultrasound at 12 Weeks and 2 Days

If you haven’t figured it out by the picture in the post already I guess I will just spill the beans. Milissa (my wife) is pregnant. We found out about a week ago and had our first baby doctor visit yesterday. Milissa is about 5 - 6 weeks and the due date is October 6, 2008. Of course I want a little boy so he can be a computer geek and Milissa wants a little girl so this one may be a fight till the end.
The next doctors visit is on February 25th and I will be sure to update after that.
